You might seek therapy for many reasons.
Perhaps you feel overwhelmed by your emotions. Perhaps you feel anxious, angry, depressed, lonely or stuck. You might have suffered bereavement, or some other loss. You might find yourself asking questions such as "Why am I unhappy?" "Why do I keep repeating these patterns?"
If so, you are not alone. By understanding what motivates you or keeps you trapped, you can begin to make sense of what is happening in your life.
You might not want to burden close friends or relatives with your difficulties; you may feel ashamed, or fear being judged. Yet it can be daunting to contact a stranger. But I believe we all struggle at some point in our lives, and being able to talk openly to someone can be liberating.
A brief note about me
I have had over 20 years’ experience working in private practice, universities and women’s centres.
More recently, I have also been practicing a form of therapy called EMDR.
It may be important for you to meet a number of counsellors or psychotherapists before you make a decision.
This is why I offer a first session at half price. This is for you to decide whether I am the right therapist for you, and for me to see if I can help you.
